Terms and Conditions for Island of Dream Weddings
Wedding date and venue
Once you confirm your wedding date and venue, we will send you our company bank details. The confirmation of booking will be sent to you once the requested deposit fee has been made,
We will then email you with further information about the ceremony format. You may send the remaining balance upon invoice when requested closer to the time.
The deposits are non-refundable in the event of cancellation on your part, however, should all go ahead as confirmed will, of course, be deducted from your final balance.
Your wedding date and venue will be securely booked by us on your behalf, however, as arrangements are usually made months or years in advance and as we are reliant on 3rd parties outside of our control, we cannot accept responsibility in the event of our having to change or amend your booking due to circumstances beyond our control and we reserve the right to amend your booking at any time. Most changes are minor, and you will be informed as soon as possible if any such changes occur.
Some venues can be affected by bad weather and we will do everything possible to make sure your day goes ahead as planned but the weather conditions may force us to make necessary changes to your wedding venue and/or reception venue last minute.
The terms and conditions are explained to us by the suppliers of the venues we use, their circumstances are beyond our control and we will therefore not be liable for any changes to their terms and conditions and circumstances including, but not limited to damages/losses/closure of these venues due to fire, flood, natural disaster, bad weather, industrial action, legal licensing and any consequent changes you may have to make as a result and any extra costs you may occur due to these changes.. We do take great care in choosing suppliers that we have worked with for several years so therefor are reliable and accommodating for such events wherever possible.
If we have to change your wedding arrangements due to any reason including but not limited to the above, we will endeavour to offer you an alternative venue wherever possible or a refund of any deposits sent. If you accept the alternative venue, then the price will be adjusted accordingly whether higher or lower.
We are subject to Greek law and cannot be held responsible for any changes made by the Greek authorities/municipality office regarding the procedure of weddings for the avoidance of doubt. We will not be liable for any additional costs/losses that you or any of your wedding party may incur as a result of any change or cancellation by us as per above due to reasons beyond our control including, but not limited to alternative wedding arrangements, holiday and transportation costs.
Services provided by preferred suppliers
In order to ensure the smooth running of your wedding, we have carefully selected and contracted certain suppliers with whom we have developed an excellent track record of reliability and excellent cooperation. It is therefore recommended that you use the services of our recommended suppliers.
However we act as a liaison between these suppliers as the provision of service is made by them, not ourselves and therefore provided we have selected these suppliers with reasonable care and skill we will not be liable for anything that occurs due to these (suppliers’actions ) pre-wedding, during and post-wedding that affect your wedding arrangements including but not limited to cases of illness and injury, local weather conditions where excessive heat may affect flowers, cake & catering services, suppliers failures including, but not limited to licencing issues, closure of a business or venue, and any acts or omissions by the wedding supplier: There is a fee payable upfront for certain services provided by outside suppliers such as the photographer, DJ, Greek dancers and Greek musicians. Some of these are payable in Sterling and some in Euros, You will be liable to pay deposits as and when required upon invoice payable nearer the time once you have committed to hiring their services and is non-refundable in the event of cancellation on your part.
Although we can guarantee prices in very rare cases the prices of certain services provided by outside suppliers/contractors may be subject to fluctuate due to circumstances beyond our control and we may no longer be able to provide the service at the original price. In these unlikely circumstances, we cannot be held responsible and you will be contacted in plenty of time and given the opportunity to cancel or change with no cancellation fee as a gesture of goodwill.
Other preferred contractors
We have carefully selected our suppliers for the services we offer based on competitive prices and long-standing experience of the quality of service and reliability and it is recommended that you use the services of our recommended suppliers. However if you wish to book directly with a local supplier then please note Greek legislation is very strict and if you wish to use the services of a third party supplier not contracted with ourselves then you need to be aware that it is your responsibility to ask them to make sure they meet the legal requirements in order to be present at the venue as otherwise, the venue will not accept them because of the heavy fines that may be incurred. You or the supplier will need to provide us with the paperwork proving they meet the legal requirements at least one month before the wedding in order for us to present the paperwork to the venue otherwise you may not be able to go ahead with this option. Please note we do not take responsibility for the disruption to the smooth running of the programme when third party suppliers not contracted by ourselves are involved and that we are unable to coordinate this service as part of your wedding arrangements and will not be liable for any loss or disappointment arising from your direct agreement with that supplier
